Mr. Kenneth Cecil Padgett age 68, of Starke passed away Friday, April 13, 2012 at E.T. York Hospice Care Center in Gainesville. He was born in Brooker, Florida on June 12, 1943 to the late Lloyd and Estelle Padgett. Prior to retirement he worked as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic. He was preceded in death by his brothers Cauthorn Padgett and Cecil Padgett. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Sheila Kay Chitty-Padgett of Starke, his 3 children: Tammy Morgan of Farmington, New Mexico, Tracy Padgett-Cord of Waterflow, New Mexico and Terry Paul of Starke; 5 grandchildren: Kenny (Vanessa) Warren of Hampton, Barry “Bubba” Warren of Starke, Kaylonna Linzy, Haylee Linzy, Treavor Gilliam of Waterflow, New Mexico; 3 great grandchildren: Erin Warren and Reagan Warren of Hampton, Kayden Warren of Starke; brother: Elwood (Sue) Padgett of Hampton; sisters: Catherine (Rudy) Sapp of Starke and Annette (Gerald) Norman of Starke; brother-in-law: Jerry (Regina) Chitty of Waterflow, New Mexico; sister-in-law: Janice Steiner of Panama City, Marie (Otis) Melton of Starke. The family will receive friends at JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME, 620 E. Nona St. in Starke on Monday, April 16, 2012 from 7-9 PM. Funeral services for Mr. Padgett will be on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. in Smyrna Baptist Church with Pastor Don (Jerry) Chitty and Leland Jim officiating.
