Josephine Raines

Services: Funeral Services will be held on Friday morning, October 12, 2012 at 11 o’clock at the First Baptist Church, 163 W. Jefferson Street in Starke with Brother Harry Hatcher III officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 AM at the Church. Entombment will take place at 2:30 PM in Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum, 4535 S. Main Street in Jacksonville.
Visitation: A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 AM on Friday, October 12, 2012 at the Church.
Mrs. Josephine (Bachelor) Raines, age 90 of Starke, formerly of Jacksonville went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, October 9, 2012.
She was born on May 8, 1922 in Haywood, GA, and was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Beryl Bernice (Powell) Bachelor. She retired from the Jacksonville Kennel Club as Maintenance Supervisor after 30 years. Mrs. Raines was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star Chapter 124 and was a member of First Baptist Church in Starke.
She was pre-deceased by her husband: C.L. “Rip” Raines and siblings: Gordon Bachelor, James Bachelor, Woody Bachelor, Etta Malphurs, and G.C. “Cooter” Bachelor.
Mrs. Raines is survived by her daughters: Laurel Cherry (Floyd) of Powder Springs, GA, Patricia Tuck (Bill) of Jacksonville, Diane Strickland of Jacksonville Beach, and JoAnn Hatcher (Harry) of Starke. Her son: John Jackson of Jacksonville. Her step-daughter: Lynda Hatam (Mike) of Port Washington, NY and her step-son: David Raines (Shirley) of Fernandina Beach . She is also survived by her sister: Ruth Thomas of Jacksonville. Her grandchildren: Curt Herndon, Timmy Herndon, Christopher Farmer, Neil Tuck, Shelby Jackson, Kerri Fiore, Kelly Funk, and Kim Teuton. Her step-grandchildren: Harry Hatcher IV, Holly Vernon, Mark Hatam, Matthew Hatam, Chris Raines and Todd Raines, twenty six great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren.
