Dr. Richard Warren Odom
Dr. Richard Warren Odom age 65, of Orlando formerly of Starke passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012. Dr. Odom was born on May 8, 1947 in Orlando and graduated from the University Of Alabama School Of Dentistry. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Starke, the Keystone Heights Rotary Club, and the Starke Gator Quarterback Club. He enjoyed Gator football, Gator basketball, fishing and golf. Survivors are: daughter: Leigh Ann Watson (Tom) of Starke; sons: Matthew Odom (Susan) of Gainesville; Mark Odom of Mt. Dora; sisters: Shirley Bourdon and Gail Phillips; ex-wife: Nancy Odom of Starke; two grandsons. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the First United Methodist Church of Starke with Reverend Mike Moore officiating. Richard and I figured We were cousins by marriage of His Aunt my Uncle. We sorted pennies at His Folks convenience store on Hwy 441 and Bradshaw Road in Apopka (a quick bike ride from my house). We were in many of the same classes in school and collaborated on a few projects. I was always glad to see Him at Class Reunions and enjoyed His wit and enthusiasm.

I am so sorry to learn of Richard's passing and wish to express my condolences. We grew up in the same neighborhood and attended the same elementary and high schools. Life is way too short. He will be missed.

I just found out today that he passed away . I'm sorry to hear about it.. Richard was my 2nd cousin on my dads side.

I'm sorry to hear about Richard. Years ago he taught a Bible study class I was taking at church. I remember him as very intelligent, knowledgable, & funny.
