Mrs. Julia W. Ripplinger 72 of Starke

Mrs. Julia Ann Walters Ripplinger 72 of Starke passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville following a brief illness. She was born April 28, 1949, in Lake City to the late Rev. Hugh and Irma (Graham) Walters. Mrs. Ripplinger graduated in 1967 from Trenton High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Mississippi College. Prior to retirement she was employed many years as a schoolteacher with the Bradford County School System. She was a longtime member of Madison Street Baptist Church where she had also played the piano and organ for many years. Having tea parties with the children always brightened her day, but most of all she loved taking her grandchildren on trips to Cades Cove. Mrs. Ripplinger is survived by her loving and much devoted husband of 50 years Ed Ripplinger of Starke and their two sons Michael Ripplinger (Dawn) of Lake Butler and John Ripplinger of Starke. She was also lovingly called “Meme” by her two precious grandchildren Abigail and Caleb. Also left behind is her mother in-law Lavonda Dix (Ramon) of Providence. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 16, 2022, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Madison Street Baptist Church with funeral services starting at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Richard Cason and Pastor Charles Warren will be officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Dekle Cemetery in Lake Butler. A reception will be held at Ed’s home Sunday afternoon following the interment.
