Mrs. Maurice Williams age 83 of Starke passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville. She was born October 20, 1936, in Pahokee and was raised in Starke where she graduated from Bradford County High School. Mrs. Williams began her career in 1971 with the Starke Police Department and retired following 25 years of dedicated service as their dispatch supervisor. She was a longtime member of Starke Church of God and loved fishing, working crossword puzzles, fresh flowers and dancing. She also enjoyed being known for her delicious pecan pies along with being very smart, witty and always being right. Preceding her in death were her parents, Kenny and Beulah “Boots” (Brown) Scarbro. Mrs. Williams leaves behind her loving daughter Shuri Pass and a sister Janice Corbett both of Starke. Also left behind are her two grandchildren Ashley Pass and Nicholas Pass and her precious great grandson Rennan Pass. The family will receive friends at the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel of Jones-Gallagher Funeral home, following CDC guidelines on Friday, May 29, 2020 from 10:00 till noon. Graveside services will follow in Crosby Lake Cemetery.
