Mr. William Thomas “Tom” Jackson, Jr. age 77, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Haven Hospice E.T. York Care Center in Gainesville. Mr. Jackson was born in Gainesville on June 5, 1942 to the late William Thomas Jackson, Sr. and Margaret (Loudon) Jackson and was a lifelong area resident. Following graduation from Bradford High School he joined the United States Army. For four years he proudly served, spending most of that time in Korea. Tom was an active member of Bradford Baptist Church and was the Manager and Vice President of Jackson’s Building Supply in Lake Butler. He enjoyed reading his bible, attending church and spending time with his family. Survivors are: his sons, Thomas “Greg” Gregory Jackson (Elaine) of Starke, John William “Billy” Jackson (Wanda) of Keystone Heights, Johnny Stone of Hampton, brothers, Marcus “Marc” Eric Jackson (Harriette) of Starke, Christopher “Bruce” Jackson (Teresa) of Starke, Frederick “Rick” Arthur Jackson (Clydie) of Starke and his sister, Margaret “Becky” Rebecca Strachan (Chuck) of Starke. Also left are his grandchildren, Candace, Camille, Stephen, Tiffany and Jordan, great grandchild, Trenton. The family will have private services due the Covid-19 pandemic. Funeral services for Tom will be on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel of Jones-Gallagher Funeral home with Reverend Rick Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Crosby Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Bradford Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. 1207, Starke, FL 32091 or Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606.
